There are two kinds of animal in the jungle -- the hunter and the hunted. But
what happens when both are human?
Then the two are playing... The Most Dangerous Game. And the winner of this
game? Lucky ABC viewers.
Created by reality television super-producer Mark Burnett, The Most Dangerous Game takes 12 contestants and flies them to our own private island
in international waters outside the protection of U.S. laws. You'll meet each
contestant -- Fran, the housewife from Dover, Delaware; Stanly, the
accountant from Scottsdale, Arizona; Sheila, the yoga teacher from Berkeley,
California; and Tex, the survivalist from New Freedomville, Montana -- and
then you'll vote on who will be the hunter and who will be the prey.
Each week, host Curt Gowdy will ferry the two contestants out to the remotest
part of the island. The prey will get a 10-minute head start before the
hunter is sent out with his or her choice of weaponry and GPS-aided tracking
equipment. To win and move on to the next round, the hunter has an hour
to track, corner, and subdue the hunted -- by any means necessary. If the
prey manages to outwit the hunter for 60 minutes, then he or she will move on
to the next round. And if not? Well, our trained medical staff is standing by.
"After revolutionizing television by creating Survivor and improving the
Eco-Challenge by having a team of Playboy Playmates compete, I longed for a
new opportunity," Burnett explained. "Man hunting man seemed like the next
logical step."
After 12 contestants are pared down to two, our finalists will meet in a
special two-hour winner-takes-all-hunt, with the winning player receiving a
$20,000 U.S. savings bond.
"Don't hate the player," Burnett adds. "Hate the game." But love The Most Dangerous Game!
